Headrow Ltd. is a housing association with charitable objectives, and is registered with the Housing Corporation (LH0065), and under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act. The regulatory framework and statutory obligations are set out in the Housing Corporation Regulatory Code, and the Association has adopted the National Housing Federations Code of Governance.
Headrow Ltd is a subsidiary of the Arena Housing Group based in Liverpool, which provides around 12,000 homes for 30,000 residents in the North of England.
The Board
The Board has overall responsibility for the Association's activities. There are nine voluntary members of the Board, drawn from both public and private sectors, and with a wide range of skills and experience.
The Board includes two resident Board members, and is supported by the following committees:
- Finance Committee
- Operations Committee
- Governance and Risk Committee
- Remuneration Committee
- Equality and Diversity Committee
The essential functions of the Board include:
- Ensuring that an appropriate governance structure is in place
- Defining the values and objectives of the Association
- Monitoring the Association's performance
- Ensuring the long-term viability of the Association through the pursuit of appropriate strategies, plans and objectives
- Management of risk and a robust system of controls
- Ensuring that the Association's affairs are in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Taking account of residents and other stakeholders views when making their decisions
