Impending Welfare Changes

In April 2012, the rules of claiming Housing Benefit for excess rooms will change.

This means if you are living in a three bedroom family home and you are a couple you will only get Housing Benefit for one bedroom, the shortfall will have to be made up by yourself.

In anticipation of this Headrow has changed its transfer policy to ensure that residents do not fall into debt by ensuring that they have a priority move.
